‘THE CASTING GUILD SELF TAPE LIBRARY”

and Actors Benevolent Fund Donation – Press Release

Over recent weeks, in line with other Screen Industry Guilds, the CGA conducted a survey of members about Covid-19 which included questions about what initiatives we should look at while navigating this weird period of time.

A clear theme of the responses was to find ways we could help and support actors in this period and utilize in the best possible way the time we all have.

As a result, last week the Casting Guild of Australia donated $5,000 to the Actors Benevolent Fund, and this week we are launching THE CASTING GUILD SELF TAPE LIBRARY.

THE CASTING GUILD SELF TAPE LIBRARY

To make the most of this time and be productive, the CGA are joining forces with Casting Networks® in calling for Australian and New Zealand Actors to send us a self tape, helping us create a unique 2020 Library that all CGA members can use as a reference moving forward as the industry re-opens in coming months.

We are calling for Self Tapes over a 3 week period – divided into age groups.
Week 1 – Monday 11th May – Ages 16-19 & 20-29 years old (Deadline Sunday 17th May) Week 2 – Monday 18th May - Ages 30-39 & 40-49 years old (Deadline Sunday 24th May) Week 3 – Monday 25th May - Ages 50-59 & 60 and over (Deadline Sunday 31st May)

Each week a tape will be chosen at random to win a Casting Networks 12 Month Premium Membership & a 12 Month TheBizBook membership. Prize winners will be announced Monday 8th June.

At the end of the process all CGA members will receive a link to the Casting Networks Library to use as a reference for future projects.
